Vieworks launches its new and premium in vivo imaging system, VISQUE InVivo ART

2022-02-04

In vivo imaging equipment for small animals is a system that photographs and visualizes drugs, cells, and tissues in the body of experimental animals such as mice (10-15cm) and rats (30-45cm), and is used to measure and evaluate the pharmacological reaction of cells.
It is mainly used in animal-level biological experiments or development of new drugs and cancer cells and stem cell studies in response to new or new treatments of various tissues, including drug distribution and disease tissue, at the preclinical stage.

Vieworks, which is attracting attention as a leading imaging solution company in Korea, has already secured technology to stably detect and quantify molecular-level weak fluorescent and light emitting signals in the process of raising the performance of VISQUE InVivo series, an imaging system for small animal researches, to the world's highest level.

Vieworks Senior Researcher Kang Yu Jung said, "Vieworks, which has the best optical technology in the in vivo market for small animals, is making progress by attempting to localize the technology," adding, "I can confidently say that it is a 'masterpiece' like its naming."

The VISQUE InVivo ART 100 and 400 products are applied with an optical system that can lower the camera temperature as low as -90°C and its high-sensitivity camera dramatically improves shooting sensitivity (400 to 900 nm) and resolution. This way, the models can detect even the minute signals from less than dozens of cells. By applying an optical system capable of large-diameter photography in a wide area, 10 experimental mice can be photographed at the same time, greatly enhancing the convenience and efficiency of the experiment.

In particular, it proved better performance in fluorescent signal detection experiments compared to foreign equipment. In terms of usability of the analysis program, it was found that it received a higher response from users. In addition, it has price competitiveness while localizing expensive premium products.

Complex and cumbersome research results can be quickly analyzed through the intelligent programs equipped with various algorithms such as real-time in vivo signals and dynamic analysis of drugs and blood flow. In addition, the "heating stage" that maintains the body temperature of anesthetic animals, which was previously provided as an option, and the respiratory anesthesia gas adapter were included as basic functions.

Researcher Kang Yu Jung said, "Fast customer service is also a great advantage," adding, "Through the camera development experience accumulated over the past 15 years, we have know-how in designing camera circuits and processing noise, which is recognized as a global level".

Not only the previous hardware but also the software is confident enough. Real-time photographed imaging data is easily calculated into strategic data and reports through "CleVue," a bioimaging analysis software developed by Vieworks.

CleVue provides more than 10 analysis algorithms and image maps to easily and quickly analyze the distribution and movement of drugs injected into experimental animals. The above analysis algorithms have been published in a number of SCI papers as results jointly developed by Vieworks and KAIST researchers over the years.
